the aquagold facial

when time is limited and you need your skin to glow almost immediately, few things compare to an Aquagold facial. after a long summer and some hectic travel, that’s exactly what I needed before attending events for New York Fashion Week.

think of Aquagold as a mini version of a microneedling treatment, but with the addition of microinjections to improve results. the 24-karat gold needles (so luxe) are used to inject the surface layers of your skin with a combination of botox, hyaluronic acid, filler, and vitamins.  

between meetings, I went to an appointment at Ject where the aesthetician performed a few rounds on my entire face and then a little extra in a few areas. she explained to me that the botox relaxes the top layer of the skin and then the small bit of filler plumps the skin up.

the combo is intended to make your pore size smaller and texture super smooth. it’s pretty much painless (think tiny little pricks), and was over before I knew it. the results should peak in about seven days and last up to six weeks.

but in just a few days, I noticed a major difference. my skin was gloooowing. it was glowing to the point that people asked what I had done to get such a fresh look: the perfect response for a special event, and a dream if you can keep up with it throughout the year.
